“On this episode of Conversations with Creatives, filmmaker Mara Ahmed discusses the film, A Thin Wall, that she and Surbhi Dewan made about the 1947 partition between India and Pakistan. She talks about her family’s fond memories and lost roots, and about the universal story that can be found within the film. She discusses the complexity of reasons for the split, and the lack of planning that contributed to an eruption of violence as the partition was enforced. She shares stories of neighbors helping neighbors and friend saving friend. She also gives insights about the structure of the film. Thanks to Mara Ahmed for being a guest and allowing us to share her trailer.”
